TANGO MAESTROS & PERFORMERS

LUCAS BOOCK

Lucas Martín Boock was born in San Carlos de Bariloche, Patagonia, Argentina. From a very young age, he showed a deep interest in the arts, starting with his love for folk music and tango. Despite living in a remote area, Lucas followed his idols through television programs that were only sporadically available in the southern part of the country. This exposure allowed him to connect with Argentine culture, especially through its lyrics, dances, and traditions, sparking his curiosity about tango and folklore.

At the age of 8, he began discovering his vocal talent, and during his adolescence, he found a passion for dance that expanded his love for tango. Due to limited access to information in his locality, he developed his own learning approach.

His formal training began at IDAF (Instituto de Arte Folklórico), where he studied Argentine folk dances and was introduced to tango through the renowned Dinzel system. Throughout his career, he has been mentored by prominent teachers such as Tete Rusconi, Raúl Bravo, Olga Besio, Carlos Pérez, among others. Additionally, Lucas has explored complementary disciplines such as physiology, anatomy, and biomechanics, aiming to better understand movement and the deep connection with the essence of tango.

Today, Lucas is a key figure in Argentine culture, known for organizing large events, directing companies, and choreographing. His teaching approach stands out for its effectiveness, not only in technique but also in transmitting the true tango spirit. As a tango singer, he has performed throughout South America with various orchestras and musicians, and in Europe, he is an active member of Hyperion Ensemble, also collaborating with orchestras like Bandonegro and Solo Tango. Performed as a singer in all most important European festivals like Mallorca Tango Festival, Recuerdo Festival in Poland, Torino Tango festival, Catania Tango Festival, Tarbes Tango festival, ASTANA TANGO FESTIVAL, etc.

Currently residing in Montenegro, Lucas, together with Bianca Vrcan, has achieved a unique connection that reflects his personal style and passion for tango. Throughout his career, he has kept his tango essence alive and continues to share his art and knowledge with the world, leaving a lasting impact on all who have the opportunity to experience his work.
